Refund policy
Hey there! I hope you're just looking at this return/refund policy because you're curious and not because something went wrong! That said, I want to make things right. I take pride in my work and I want you to be happy.
The "It's Too Ugly" 30-day Return Policy
If you decide you just don't like one of my carvings or sculptures sometime within 30 days of looking at it, you can request a return for that ugly thing. So, to be clear, you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return (even if it's not ugly).
To be eligible for a return, the carving or sculpture must be in the same condition that you received it (makes sense, right?) and in its original packaging (or you'll have to buy the same sized packaging as it came in to ship it back). Please pack the return well so that when you shake the box it doesn't move. Package carriers are not kind to packages. On that note: if it arrived broken, the section about "Damages and Issues" below will apply, not this one.
Starting the Process and Return Shipping
To start a return, you can contact me at joshua@grimmscarvings.com. Now, the annoying part ... I'm just a small woodcarver guy trying to make it. And I hate to do this, but I'll have to take the return shipping cost out of your refund. Sorry - I know that sucks. That said, I will try and find a cheap (and reasonable!) way to ship it back. That is usually USPS Ground Advantage.
When the return is accepted, I'll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package.
Don't be "that person" and send back an item without first requesting a return. I will not accept it, and "that person" will probably be mad at me.
If something here doesn't make sense or isn't covered, you can always contact me for any return question at joshua@grimmscarvings.com. If you have complaints about how unfunny this policy is, you can also email me but I may not respond.
Damages (UH OH) and Issues
Take a look at the carving or sculpture when it arrives - sometimes the package delivery people are horribly cruel to packages. It's important to let me know ASAP if the item is damaged or if you received the wrong item in some bizarre mix-up. Email me and we'll work together to figure out the problem and make things right.
However, if your item is broken, I need you to do two things while we figure out what to do:
1) Please keep the original packaging and all that packing paper stuff as well as the item and any broken parts! I know this is annoying, but often the items are insured and the package people require all that stuff to prove it was broken and not poorly packaged.
2) Take a picture of the broken item with the broken piece and send it with your email to me. (Again those insurers!)
Exceptions / non-returnable items
If you've commissioned a custom product (such as special orders or personalized items), you can't return it. Makes sense, right? For example, I would have a hard time re-selling a sculpture on it that has the inscription "To my love Xena ... you'll always be my princess warrior". Anyway, you get the drift.
If I ever sell gift cards or clearance items, they can't be returned either.
If you have questions/concerns about your item, please get in touch. I'll be happy to clarify.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for a new item.
Refunds
I will notify you once I've received and had a chance to look at your return. I'll let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, I'll initiate the refund on your original payment method within 5 business days (but likely even faster). However, please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since I've approved your return, please contact me at joshua@grimmscarvings.com because that seems like too long!
