The Medium Carved from a massive piece of reclaimed Cottonwood Bark found on the shores of Grapevine Lake. The deep ridges of this specific bark allowed for a high-relief carving that emphasizes shadow and depth.
Artist's Note: I finished this piece with a "dry brush" technique using a touch of white pigment. This catches the high points of the texture, giving the wood a weathered, almost petrified appearance—like timber that has survived a century of winters.
