I am currently attending an intensive woodcarving residency in Austria. I will ship it on my return in mid-August.
Hand carved tree spirit (think Ents or Grimms' Fairy Tales ). Rustic and elemental, the figure is carved to emphasize the texture of the bark. Dry brushed with a touch of white to bring out the beard.
I imagine this one as a guardian with his serious expression.
Sustainably created - carved from cottonwood bark collected from a dead tree on the shores of Grapevine Lake.
Suitable for hanging as wall art indoors or outdoors. Finished with a spar urethane to stabilize the wood and protect it. Each piece is signed by the artist (me!). Made in Texas.
