I am currently attending an intensive woodcarving residency in Austria. I will ship it on my return in mid-August.
Hand carved tree spirits (think Ents or Grimms' Fairy Tales ). I carved two faces for this piece. Rustic and elemental, the figures are carved to emphasize the texture of the bark. Dry brushed with a touch of white to bring out the beards.
These two are brothers.
Sustainably created - carved from cottonwood bark collected from a dead tree on the shores of Grapevine Lake.
Suitable for hanging as wall art indoors or outdoors in an area protected from the elements like a porch. Finished with a lacquer to stabilize the wood and protect it. Each piece is signed by the artist (me!). Made in Texas.
