Carved from reclaimed cottonwood bark collected from a fallen tree on the shores of Grapevine Lake, his expression carries a quiet that feels earned. A dry-brush of white pigment softens the texture, like morning frost on old wood.

About the Maker

I am trained in traditional carving techniques at one of Europe's most prestigious woodcarving schools in the Austrian Alps. My work draws from centuries of methods used in European churches and royal residences. I create from that lineage in my studio in Grapevine, Texas.
