Hand carved tree spirit (think Ents or Grimms' Fairy Tales ). Rustic and elemental, this figure is carved to emphasize the texture of the bark. Dry brushed with a touch of white to bring out the beard.
This is one of my favorite bark carvings - not everyone's cup of tea, but I love how merged he is with the tree. If the tree spirits have a king, he's it.
Sustainably created - carved from cottonwood bark collected from a dead tree on the shores of Grapevine Lake.

Suitable for hanging as wall art indoors or outdoors. Finished with a spar urethane to stabilize the wood and protect it. Each piece is signed by the artist (me!). Made in Texas.
